I went to Taiwan Taipei Thai embassy on Wednesday Dec 17 9am to apply soft power Muay Thai they told me to come bakc at 3 pm and came late so they told me to come back the next day 3pm. They asked me a few questions like how long have you been in Thailand what do you do for work do you have a Thai bank account they asked me when I first came to Thailand 2018 as a tourist in and out and got stuck out when covid happened. Officially moved to Thailand when I opened a business and worked in it because of covid business slowed down a lot amd we shut it down. After shutting it down I did a education visa and tried to apply for,the Thai elite visa but got refused because education visas were frowned upon (a blessing for me I’d say) and the DTV came out applied for it and got approved picked up my passport.
Now I’m having trouble applying for a motorbike license went to 2 places they both refused because I didn’t have a work permit.im under 50 retired. Anyone know a legit place in Bangkok preferably sathon Rama 3 area.
Thank you all in Advance for taking the time to read this.
Residency Certificate (RC) - Are residency certificates specific to each task wanting to be accomplished.
i.e. I got a RC for a drivers license. Now I only have a copy because DLT took that copy. Also I believe the RC notes states it for use with drivers license.
So would opening a bank account require a RC designated for opening a bank account.
When I tried to open a bank account I showed the bank folks the my RC I used for drivers license and they said, “That’s for a drivers license”
Does anyone know if its possible to still apply for motorbike license if your on the 60 days plus 30 days extension? Im hearing getting the cert of residence is main issue but that it also depends on where you apply for it. Iv heard if you are in a less touristy place its a far easier and faster process. Any experiences?
I want to travel to other countries in Asia, and be able to legally rent a motorbike. So, I want to get a motorbike license. Since the Thailand 2 year license is not able to issue IDP(?), this rules Thailand out. What other country could i travel to short term and get a license fairly easily?
Info:
* If it matters, i have a car license from home country since 10+ years.
* Must be able to issue IDP for the motorbike license.
* Must be able to get the license on a tourist visa. Preferably i fly in, spend a week or two there to get everything done. Fly out.
* Bonus points if its also convertible to a 5 year license back in thailand.
What are my options?
And thanks a lot, this community is always helpful.
This falls in to the everything else category. Anyone recommend a business for getting lessons and license for a motorbike in Bangkok? I checked out Honda Safety but their classes in English for this type of thing are only offered in the Phuket and Chiang Mai locations. I have considered just going to Chiang Mai (since I love it there anyhow!) and take the classes and test. Thank you, everyone! Oh and ps- I am studying Thai so wish I could take the course at the Bangkok location but just not fluent enough yet. Thanks again ahead of time.
Does anyone know what you need to be able to legally ride a 125cc scooter in Thailand? Does a full UK drivers licence, international drivers licence and CBT training do the job?
