Hello expats. I could use a bit of insight I guess? I am trying to figure out why immigration charged my gf so much for an overstay. The law states $500 baht per day. The last day on her visa was 1 July, she crossed the border on 31 July.
By my count 15k baht, but they clearly wrote her fine was $18,500. Why the extra $3,500?
i currently live in Cambodia, Kingdom of Wonder, on a year visa, renewable if i want. my Question: how many side trips into Thailand am i allowed BY Thailand?? Cambodia allows unlimited access.. thanks in advance for helpful advice or even funny answers. khop kuhn khrop.
Hello guys so i have a question regarding my stay in Thailand. I came to thailand on stv visa in july 2022 (90 day without possibility of extention) then I crossed the border by a car to get the 45 exemption + 30 days extension. After that i crossed again the border in the end of december to get again 45+30 extention. The extention will end in the middle of march.
So totally i got 2 times 45 days exemption + 30 days extention in 2022 year.
So my question is:
1) right now will i need to cross the border by a plane? i cannot find the information if i can cross the border by car twice a calendar year or just a year?
2) after i will enter thailand again (land or plane) will i be able to get the 45 days exemption + 30 days extention? I found the info that it will end in the end of march.
I just entered Thailand with a Multiple entry visa a 60 days from Canada. It is good for six months. I understand that i need to exit the country to get another 60 days during that six months. First question: i know that if i cross the border by land i only get 15 days instead of 30 days compared to flying as per regular visa run. Is it different with this type of visa?
Second question: let’s say i come back to Thailand on month 5.5 of my visa, do i get 2 weeks or i get another 2 months?
So far I got 3 visa exempt entries (I am Dutch). First one I got via plane in June 2018. Second one also by plane in September 2018. I extended that one by 30 days and went for the Mae Sai border run after that so thats the third visa exempt stamp in 2018 (first one thats via land border though). Also extended that one at immigration in december and its gonna run out January 16.
I hear that immigration is starting to get more strict on handing out tourist visas and exempts to passports with a history. Before I heard that, I understood that I could officially get 2 visa exempt entries via land border every calander year, so that means officially I should be able to do the border run again 2 times this year.
My question: considering my history, is it best to go to a Thai consulate in another country to apply for a 60day SETV or can I just go for another Mae Sai border run which is far more convenient for me? The goal is to stay here in Chiang Mai for another while though.
Asking for a friend - I've searched the group and read that Russian citizens can't extend their 30 day visa exempt but can cross the borders an unlimited amount of time per year.
Is the Mae Sai border crossing Russian citizen friendly and is it fine to cross the same border each time every 30 days?
