What was the experience like at the Thai consulate in Vientiane today regarding visa applications?

This was at the Thai consulate in Vientiane, Laos at 10.30  this morning (while yours truly walked out with his number)...at least 1000 applicants turned up but it was well organised by the consulate staff and everyone was well behaved (even Russian visa applicants). The cool morning helped.
