Not sure if anyone would know the answer to this but I am planning to fly back to Bangkok on March 31 and will be landing around 11:55pm. I know they are offering the 45-day exemptions until March 31 at the moment, but if we land literally 5 minutes before the end of the day... will they grant the 45 day exemption or will it be 30 days since I doubt we will get to immigration before 12am.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question raises concerns about receiving the 45-day visa exemption when arriving just before midnight on March 31. Comments suggest that the exemption is granted based on the immigration process completion time, not just landing time, and caution that landing after the deadline could result in only a 30-day stamp. Some suggest the possibility of immigration delays while others recommend arriving earlier to ensure receiving the longer exemption.
The day you stamp in no matter what time it is always counts as day ONE of your allowed stay.
At this time the program is set to expire at 11:59 on Mar 31st, meaning at 12:00am on April 1st you'd get stamped in for 30 days not 45.. Certainly not the end of the world
good luck to the O/P and their travel plans (y)

No chance. Fly a day earlier if you want it.

At this point it's difficult to say when the hammer will fall. There MIGHT be some flexibility given by Thai immigration (perhaps they MIGHT allow a tolerance to provide for immigration delays) but I wouldn't bank on it. In true Thai fashion there won't be an announcement until the day before!

It's not the time you land, it's the time you pass immigration. I had the opposite situation....was second in line at 11:55, so let the person behind me go ahead. Got stamped at 12:01.
I could be mistaken but I seem to remember that whenever I have arrived at immigration after midnight(which is often) I still get stamped for the day before. It doesn't seem to change at 12:01
when I went through he literally took 30 seconds to rotate the dials on all his stamps before asking for my passport. My visa didn't get processed in time and my stay was one day too long for entering exempt. By letting one guy go ahead of me I shortened my stay by a day and avoided the over-stay issue.

Not sure how long you want to stay. But IF they stamp you for 30 days. YOu can add another 30 days at immigration for 1800b (so 60 total instead of 75)
