Asking for my aunt. She has a US passport and will apply for Thailand tourist Visa in the US. If she travels to Laos after 30 days staying in Thailand, will her tourist visa still valid/active upon returning from Laos or she will get a 30 exempt?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US passport holder applying for a tourist visa in the US will have different options upon returning to Thailand after visiting Laos. If she has a single entry visa, she would need to get a 30-day visa exemption upon re-entering Thailand. Alternatively, if she has a multiple entry visa, her visa would still be valid for further stays.
thank you. Does she needs to get re-entry permit before going to Laos if single entry? Or she’ll gets a new 30 days exempt?

If she only has a single entry visa she will get 30 days exempt retuning from Laos. It’s also possible to get a reentry permit but I don’t think it’s worth it in this case.
What’s the need for the tourist visa if just staying 30 days?
