Hello. Iโm planning to extend for 1 more month in Thailand. When do I have to go to Chiang Mai immigration to extend? Just wondering because I saw a post somewhere that they donโt let you extend unless you only have 10 days left for your stay. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The best time to apply for a 1-month visa extension in Chiang Mai is generally within the last 30 days of your current visa. While some immigration offices, like those in Jomtien and Samui, only allow extensions within the last week, Chiang Mai is noted for being more lenient. You can apply up to 30 days before your visa expires. It is advisable to visit the immigration office early in the morning, as the process may take a considerable amount of time.

I went once the day my 60 days were up, a change of circumstances and they were very supportive. I was in Bangkok at the time and would suggest going very early in morning and expect it to take a whole day ๐
