My retired 75 year old father (Aus citizen) has been offered a job in Bangkok as a management consultant. It's a 1+1 year contract and he intends to apply for the pension when he returns to Sydney after the stint. What visa would people recommend he apply for during his time in Bangkok? He's supposed to start in Q4. Should he go for a retirement visa or get his company to apply for a work visa (is he too old for this?) Thanks 🙏

nonsense, his company has trust and faith in him. I’m 81 and still work part time, and do a lot of volunteer work. His expertise is needed.

His company needs to sponsor him for a Non-B and a work permit. He cannot work on a retirement visa.

It's illegal to work without a work permit and visa that allows work. For him that would be a non-B visa. He can't get either of those things on his own, he'll need supporting documentation from the company.
