60 day visa exempt queries. U.K.Passport.

Hi all, I'll be coming into DMK next week hoping to get the 60 day visa exempt, after 8 weeks in the Philippines. For the last 6 years I've been on O-A extensions but the last one has expired, deliberately. Should I anticipate any problems? If not and I extend for a further 30 days can I get a re-entry permit effective during the 30 day extension? Thanks in advance.

The question is clear.

You are in the Phllippines, want to come back into Thailand with a 60 day Visa Exempt Entry and apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay. During these last 30 days you need to make a short trip outside Thailand and like to apply for a Re-Entry Permit.

Yes, it will be no problem, BUT as you can come back into Thailand using a new 60 day Visa Exempt Entry, I would advice to take the 60 days.

No need for special border runs companies to plan your travels OR a re-entry permit for a short time inside Thailand and than have to leave again.

Visa exempt stamps and extensions are void as soon as you exit the country so you would simply get another 60 day free visa exempt stamp when you re-enter, which of course can be extended by a further 30 days at the IO for 1900 baht.

Shouldn’t be any issues to re-enter on a 60 days visa exemption after you’ve stay in Thailand on extensions based on a Non O-A visa. You can apply for a 30 days extension, but you don’t get re-enter permit on visa exemptions. You’ll just re-enter on a new one.

Trying to understand what you are saying... Is it's a bit confusing.

You say that you are now outside of Thailand...

You cannot get a re-entry permit...

And there's NO 30 days extension of stay available outside of Thailand.

When you do arrive into Thailand..

Thai Immigration Officers may grant you a 60 day stamp as a Visa Exempt Entry.

That can be extended for 30 ADDED days at your local Thai Immigration office for 1,900 Thai baht.

Why would you want to get a reentry permit to use during that 30 day extension of stay?

A simple LAND BORDER BOUNCE or by Air could get you a New 60 day STAMP on arrival into Thailand.

With your recent history of staying in Thailand and with leaving and reentering Visa Exempt Entry likely may be questioned by Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival.

Suggest you use an experienced border run service company to take you to the Thai border cross and re-enter Thailand same day.

Do NOT fly into Thailand.

Plan carefully.

Thanks James, sorry if I confused you. I'll try again.......my life plans have changed thus my O-A has expired. I will arrive Don Muang after 8 weeks in Philippines, assume I get a 60 day visa exempt which I will extend. It seems to me that to then leave Thailand during the extension, for just a few days, (necessary trip) and return to get a new 60 day visa exempt will be frowned upon hence my query about a re-entry permit during the extension.

thank you for your helpful clarity.

Get the reentry permit... depart Thailand and also have proof of a ticket departing Thailand within the time period of your permitted entry to show if ASKED by Thai Immigration Officers upon return during the 30 days extension you received.

Why would you want to get a re-entry permit.

If you leave and come back you get another 60 day visa exempt.
