What should I do if my bank won’t issue a required income letter for my Thai visa extension?

I wonder if anybody has had the same experience and what happened. I have asked that my bank give me the required letter showing 65,000 baht coming into my account each month. I have two pensions but 3 of the payments came in via smart payments and not by international transfer, my Bank says I have to approach the other bank to get a letter to cover these three. Has anybody had to do this and what happened?

The irony of all this is it's none of Thailands damn business where the money comes from,how we make it and how it is transferred provided it's a legal source and meets the minimum they want.

I’m sweating this very thing.

Get two payments.

One is the common direct deposit from Bangkok Bank NYC to local branch. Always shows as an IFT (international fund transfer) in my passbook. No problem there.

The other half of my income is a pension deposited to a US bank and then drawn out by using a debit card here at Bangkok Bank. It is then immediately deposited by me into Bangkok Bank. Bangkok Bank says they won’t issue a letter for this second income source.

Any suggestions?

Bangkok Bank has branches in the US. Maybe try that way?

TW does SWIFT transfers for $3. Send USD to your THB account. You'll get the bank's TT rate, not the TW rate (since they're sending USD not THB) but it's still cheaper and easier than setting up SWIFT network transfers direct from your US bank. Will always show as international.

I think I read that if you go back to your own country and get an annual retirement visa from the Thai embassy, you can show all your income (or 800K baht) in a bank or regular deposits stateside without having to deal with this Thailand-side documentation showing cash coming from outside the country. Anyone else hear of this?

Garrett Greenwald My US bank doesn’t do international wire transfers. Plus, at most US banks, we’re looking at a $30-$45 wire transfer fee vs. a free over the counter debit withdrawal. Tough, expensive option!

22 of the last 25 transfers have been recorded as international transfers. They use 3 partners, Bangkok Bank, TMB and Kasikorn. The problem only arises when they don't use Bangkok Bank.

TransferWise won't be considered as a overseas transfer after the money will come from TransferWise Thai account

I bank with bangkok bank who are very good, my problem arouse because I use Tranferwise who have 3 partners, Bangkok Bank, TMB and Kasikorn. If the Bangkok Bank partner has not enough funds then the transfer it as a Swift payment through one of the other partners. Out of the last 22 transfers 3 have been by Swift. I get two payments each month.

. I'm quite happy with my bank, so are you saying in your experience other banks would include Swift transfer in the letter for immigration.
