I am currently on a smart visa extention of stay. When it runs out I want to step over to a business extention of stay.
My questions arw how long needs to be left on the extention of stay to do this process if there is any requirements at all.
Do I need any additional documents besides the ones needed normaly for a business extention of stay?
If it matters for context me and my wife own most of the company that it's linked to my extention of stay.
And we are in bangkok
Thanks in advances

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking to transition from a smart visa extension of stay to a business extension once their current visa runs out. They seek clarification on the specific timing required before making the switch and whether additional documents are needed beyond the standard requirements for a business extension. Contextually, they own most of the company associated with the smart visa and are currently located in Bangkok.
If you're on a smart visa extension that means you get it at Cham Churi Square at the BOI One Stop Shop. correct?
You'd have to cancel that extension at that office, THEN you'd slog on out to Chaengwattana and apply for a new extension at the main immigration office (seeing as the new extension isn't BOI/IEAT/SMART visa related)/
You just need the documentation to apply for a yearly extension of stay based on employment so what ever that is will be what you need.
I believe you're thinking of applying for a new Non-Imm visa inside the country, that requires a minimum of 15 days left on your passport stamp
BUT
all you're doing is changing the reason for your extension to one from SMART visa to one based on employment
Go to Cham Churi about a week before you're termination date for the smart visa paperwork, they should cancel the extension and give you a stamp that lets you stay until the termination date on the paperwork. You have until that stamp runs out to go apply for a NEW extension for a different reason OR leave the country.
I'd also go out to Chaengwattana and get the hand out listing the requirements to get this new yearly extension so you're not a document short when you try for it. You won't have the luxury of time on your side and it has to work pretty much the first time you try or you'll run out of time on your stamp
