Extension Based on Marriage At SAMUT PRAKAN
Ok this is the second year that I’m doing my extension at the Samut Prakan Immigration office.
My stamp runs out on September 3rd so I thought why not get it done while immigration is quiet.
I went to immigration a couple of weeks ago to get the handout showing the various bits and pieces of paper work that I would need. All of which is in Thai.
So over the next 10 or so days I put all the relevant paper work into 2 separate piles in order of what is shown on the handout.
I also went above and beyond what’s on the handout with copies of.
TM 30
Copy of TM6
Wife’s name change paper
These 3 are not shown as a requirement. But as often noted on this page they would be required.
So all Is dotted and T’s crossed or so we thought.
The lady who was doing my paper work asked for the KOR ROR 2 for this very same day. Luckily there is an Amphoe just next door to immigration.
However 2 hours of waiting was required by the wife while I sat in immigration.
Now the KR2 that we submitted was less than a week old.
In addition to this they also wanted to see a copy of ALL pages of my bank book and not just the page which showed money in the bank for the last 2 months (in my case 6 month).
This is just a heads up for people who might use the Samut Prakan office to be prepared with the KR2 issue.
I got the under consideration stamp to return in a month.
Thanks to all on this page for the updates and info provided.
Note - if you are early and are going to que. don’t do it at the door. There is a van outside which hands out the tickets. Wait there instead.
