Greetings!

I entered Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa and had a 30 day extension. I am going to the Thai embassy in KL Malaysia to apply for a non immigrant B visa. You now have to wait 30 days. 1. Is your passport returned when applying? In South Africa your passport is kept when applying. 2. Can the fee be paid in Baht in KL? Thanking you in advance for your answers.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing to apply for a Non-Immigrant B visa at the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur after entering Thailand on a tourist visa. They have questions about whether the passport is returned during the application process and if fees can be paid in Baht. Previous comments suggest that the passport is typically returned to facilitate travel, though fees must be paid in Malaysian Ringgit (MR). Some community members mention faster processing options in Singapore.

Davy Clitheroe, we do give advice to get a visa by meeting the requirements. Please use English and do not recommend this kind of service.

I understand as well, sorry for you.

Before you make you're way to Singapore you can use their online application system. When application approved go to Singapore hand over the copies and get the visa next day.

Why do you have to wait 30 days? Got a Non Imm B in KL 3 weeks ago - it was next day service.

Catherina. You can only pay in MR - NOT baht. I was told by the embassy you get your passport back as you need it to leave KL again. Then after 4 weeks you go back for visa. Why not rather apply in Singapore?

Hi there! I’m on a non B visa. You apply at the embassy and then go back the next day for your visa. Go early! Some embassy’s only process so many visas each day. Not sure about KL though. Do you work in Thailand and is your employer apply for the visa for you?
