Has anyone recently been to immigration at Changwattana to convert from a covid visa - a non-b?

Was there an in country conversion fee, or did you just pay the 2000 baht non-b visa fee?

I've been on an Ed visa for the past 5 years with a legitimate Thai University. I last left and reentered Thailand from Vietnam at Don mueang December 2017 with a reentry permit for the Ed visa. I canceled my Ed visa just a few months ago before jumping onto a covid visa.

Unfortunately, the day you graduate you must cancel your visa or incur an overstay, hence jumping off of my Ed visa.

right, so your on a covid extension from an ED visa extension, and that's why I said I doubt that you can get an in country Non-B.

GO with someone from your employer to the immigration office you're dealing with, show them your passport and SEE if it can be done.

I'm thinking they will say it cannot be done.

Unless I'm wrong you're NOT going to be able to go to a Non-B in country from an ED visa extension that was cancelled and turned into a covid extension BUT that will be between you, your new employer and Section C-1 out at Chaengwattana (the section that issues Non-Immigrant Type visas inside the country in Bangkok).

Take someone from your employer and go out there to talk to them. That's the ONLY way you're going to know for sure if it can be done or not.

I entered Thailand 12 years ago on a non-b. Then switched to tourist visas, then converted a tourist visa into an education visa some years ago. That tourist visa would have been from Laos

the real question is

What type of entry stamp, visa/extension were you on BEFORE you went on to a covid extension?

That's what controls whether you can apply for an in country Non-Immigrant Type B visa or not because not every stamp/extension CAN.

So what were you on before you switched to a covid extension?
