My multi entry retirement visa expires December 12, 2024. What's the earliest date I can apply for renewal?
I'm trying to plan some overseas travel around that time.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for the renewal of your multi-entry retirement visa either 30 or 45 days before it expires, depending on the office. If your visa expires on December 12, 2024, you can apply as early as October 28, 2024, or November 12, 2024. It's advisable to visit your immigration office beforehand to gather all required documents.

Are you really on a Visa (which would be a Non-OA) or an Extension of Stay. If you are still on a Non-OA you can get a new 12 month stamp (not multi entry though) by getting new insurance and border bouncing before it expires.
I got one november 2023 - but apparently something has changed...

most offices allow you to apply for a yearly extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp SOME offices allow 45 days or less
So depending on your office, either the 12th of Nov or the 28th of Oct ๐
Definitely go in to your office well before you're going to apply and get the hand out listing the requirements, copies and documents you need so you can pull it off in one try
