Current best way to get a re-entry stamp in Chiang Mai?

It used to be just behind security at CNX but is the better alternative to go head out to immigration near the airport before hand . If yes, which level? 

Which is the better way?

For Tod and the other mod - this is all 100% visa related - I have a Non-Imm B (BOI) visa that gave me two years.

Well as the question seems to be: "Im looking for the easiest way for the re entry stamp." The easiest way is to apply directly when your Extension of Stay is stamped in your passport. You have enough answers to deal with the more hard way, I would say good luck.
