I have a French passport and Iβm married with a Thai woman. I just obtained a non-o visa in Laos for a period of 3 months (until May 15, 2023). I read that I could apply for a marriage visa (1 year) 45 days before the expiry date of my visa. Do you know the documents required to apply for Bangkok immigration please?
I will also open a Thai bank account today to transfer 400,000 THB, because it seems to me that you have to prove your finances.
But I didnβt understand whether you need a certificate of less than 2 months before the visa application or whether you should keep this amount in an account for a minimum of 2 months. Can you give me more information please?
Thank you so much ππ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a NON-O visa and is married to a Thai woman, seeking information on the documents required for a 1-year marriage visa application at Bangkok immigration, specifically mentioning financial requirements such as maintaining 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.

you need to deposit 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the year extension.
AND
you should go to Chaengwattana Immigration office yourself and get the hand out listing the photos, documents, bank letters, copies etc that you need to get the year extension.
This is a rough idea of what could be asked for at the immigration office IT IS NOT the exact requirements just an idea of what could be asked for
after the 90 days can you withdraw that money to less than 400,000 baht? Or must you maintain that minimum amount for the rest of the year (12) months of visa?
remember in bangkok the bank letter can only be no more than 7 days old SO don't get the bank letter until you know when you're going for your extension, and don't forget to update your bank book the day you apply
