Good afternoon all...

All help appreciated...seems like rules change on a daily basis....lol

Here's my situation...I leave for kl on Aug 4 returning  Aug 7....I need to stay in the country until October 3....

I'm a US citizen so I have a 30 day tourist...I've rented a place for 1yr because my son is a teacher here...

I will be going back to the US in October coming back in January 2019 then filing for a retirement visa!

Sorry, but rules don't change on a daily basis, not even on weekly or monthly basis and a 30 day tourist....,? I hope you mean you come back using the Visa Exempt Entry for 30 days, will give you from Aug 7 till Sep 6, apply for 30 days Extension of Stay till Oct 6. If you back in the USA, best to apply there for the Non Immigrant O or even better the Non Immigrant O-A (long stay) visa. As many people like to call things retirement visa, it still does not exist in Thailand.

you can apply for a year-long, multi-entry Non-O-A visa by post at the consulates in the USA, you don't need to travel for a week to get one. :/

You need in Bangkok 15 days, Changmai and other cities 21 days left on your Admitted to Stay period. You need to have the 800.000 Thb in Thai bank with letter from bank plus statement that money comes from abroad. Next to this paspoort copies, map to house, depending on office the tm 30 report slip. Yes the Extension of Stay you have to do every year.

sorry about that I-A meant O-A . Can I apply for O Visa during my first 30 days or do I need to get 30 day extension first? I will be retiring there so I guess I would need to do 1 year extensions every year? I am over 50 & can meet the financial requirements. Thanks

I never heard of a I-A visa. You can not apply for a Non Immigrant O-A or X visa inside Thailand. You can only apply inside Thailand for the Non Immigrant O visa, which gives you 90 days of stay and after 60 days you can apply for an 1 year Extension of Stay.

Mr. Robert the non-inn. I-A visa not exist in Thai?? Getting it in the USA for me would be a hassle as I live in Florida & would have to travel for a week to get it? I am planning on getting a visa exempt then extend it & apply for O-A or X while there. Is this possible?
