TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses obtaining a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) from the USA for a retired individual, aged 70, who has money in a Bangkok Bank account. Comments suggest alternatives such as the retirement visa, indicating potential issues with the DTV due to increasing scrutiny and fraud concerns. Some recommend consulting immigration experts or examining the Thai Embassy's website for detailed guidance. Personal experiences with DTV, retirement visas, and necessary documentation processes are also shared.

Make an appointment at Bumrungrad for a physical, or any other consult - buy a ticket and send in your E-application to the Los Angeles Thai Embassy. You should have a DTV within two weeks. Ask me how I know.

Don’t do DTV. It has too many downsides.

Why not DTV? Looks to me better the O if qualified

Pre existing medical conditions were helpful for getting proof of long term medical treatment. I went this route. Don’t want to sound rude, maybe you have a valid reason to see a doctor, too. I’m in my 40s, usually it’s not the age to have chronic illnesses. I went with Bumrungrad hospital and see a nephrologist every 3 months which they wrote on a letter the embassy in bern accepted

Read the visa section of the website of the Thai Embassy in U.S.

I got a DTV via my Company in HK which was very straightforward… my wife got hers via the medical treatment route- ie A schedule of Dental work- all we provided was an assessment by the dentist on what work she needed .. she has completed most of the work and has a 5 year visa .. she got the Visa before doing any of the work

You would be better getting the non-o visa

If you often come and go like me, DTV is better choice. Retirement visa every year have to renew!

@Makro ****
DTV you have to leave every 180 days (or do one Extension of Stay then leave), to many people an Extension of Stay based on retirement once a year is much better if they don't travel

Go to the website and apply. It isn’t hard. Do you have specific questions or have you not even looked into it and just want someone to do it for you?

Why DTV and not a retirement visa?
Jeremy *****
I'd get the retirement visa period

I have DTV for now but I see it becoming an issue with the gov soon do to rampant fraud wich you can even see on here daily woch is definitely going to cause a crackdown and rule changes in the future 🤦‍♂️

You're already a step ahead with a thai bank account as well!

how much money? Personally, I think the DTV is on the rocks!

I think If u already have a bkk bank acc. U should apply retirement visa is more relaible to u

@Pyae ********
exactly multi entry non o
Graham ******
@Philip ******
Cannot get that now, has to be an Extension of Stay with a multi re-entry permit for 3800B
Philip *******
@Graham *****
yes initial 90 day then a 1yr extension
