Good morning! I would like please to get information about 1 years extension NON-O visa with Thai kid.
I called immigration and they said I only have to provide 400,000 thb in my Thai bank account for my case. But I m working in Thailand I have work permit and I heard that I can also provide proof that I get at least 40k THB by month to get non o visa with Thai kid.
So can you please confirm if itβs right or not and if someone already did it without 400k thb on thai bank account? And if you can also send me the official document to show it at immigration counter please π
Thanks again ππ»

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks confirmation on the requirements for a one-year extension of a Non-O visa, specifically for parents of Thai children. They received information that they need to have 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account but are also aware that proving a monthly income of at least 40,000 THB may suffice for the application. Community members suggest verifying with the local immigration office to obtain the list of requirements, indicating that legal employment with the stated salary could potentially qualify for the extension. Some discussions clarify the distinction between initial visa issuance and extensions based on financial proof.

Are you wanting to get the initial 90 day Non-O visa based on raising a thai child (one that you have legal parental rights of) OR are you wanting to get a year extension of stay?
I ask because I don't think you can use the 40K baht a month legal salary here in thailand as financial proof to get the initial 90 day Non-O visa issued only the 400K baht banked money
you should be able to get the year extension using legal employment here without any issue at all as long as your salary was over 40K baht a month AND they usually only ask for the past 3 months of salary documents. GO to your immigration office and talk to someone because legally working here at a salary of 40K baht a month or more to meet the financial requirements for raising half thai children IS an option
