Hello I am seeking some advice regarding having a positive PCR test after contracting covid and getting a letter of recovery. Do you know if there is a time period that Thailand needs to have between you having covid and letting you enter the country?  

I tested positive for Covid on 25th December and am still testing positive on PCR tests (negative on lateral flows). I can get a letter of recovery from day 10 and U.K. regulations mean I am free to stop isolation but I am meant to be flying into Thailand on the 8th January but that would be my day 14 of having Covid which I feel may be too risky for Thailand to accept. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this?

Hello just an update for anyone in the same position as me - I was due to fly tomorrow the 11th but I’ve still tested positive on my PCR today 😭 so going to try and delay my flight to this weekend then try once more. If I’m still positive then I’ll change my flight ticket to an airline which accept the letter of recovery.

If anyone has any success flying with an airline with a letter of recovery please can you comment on this post? 🙏🏻 it would be very much appreciated!

(I don’t know if 28th counts as day 0 or day 1) I doubt that will be happening. Thaipass valid up to and including flights leaving on January 10th (which is either day

). Currently it looks like my only option is going to be to cancel my flight and Thai pass hotel, and do either 7 nights in bangkok or 7 in Phuket (hopefully Phuket), as long as I can find an airline that will take me.

remember they are reviewing entry requirements too.

You can change your Thai pass for 72 hours. However the 10th is the last day they are valid for. Also I think if you have had covid this means there is changes to your Thai pass making it invalid.

An update for anyone in a similar position - I just called Emirates. They said they are not accepting the letter of recovery when transiting through Dubai 😩 so now trying to find an airline which will so I can try and sort getting back. If anyone has any experience of an airline which will accept the letter of recovery please let me know.

*Waiting it out is not an option as I am a teacher in an international school and need to be back as soon as possible to teach or my job is at risk.

I just tried calling them and one line says they are closed, another is coming up as busy and the email address just returned my email enquiry as ‘undeliverable’ 🤦🏻‍♀️ nothing is ever easy! Will keep trying the busy phone number and if not I’ll try calling tomorrow.

Joanne McLaughlin. I was just looking through the Thai Airways information for the London-Thailand route and there is nothing specific mentioned but there are a number of links which will take you to other Thai government pages. As there will (or should) be better correlation between Thai Airways and Thai Government you should be able to get a more concrete response than you would from another country's airline who would simply put your case in the "too hard" basket. Anyway you have nothing to lose by giving it a go. If you can report back to this group on the result as it may help others. Good luck!

It's all down to whether the airline will accept a recovery certificate along with a positive covid test. The question has been asked a thousand times, and there's really no straight answer. Contact your airline. If they say no, then no it is, irrespective of what any government website is telling you

thank you 😊 I did search the previous posts but couldn’t find any specific information on how long you have to wait after a positive covid test (I assume 14 days as that’s Thailand’s quarantine rules but some countries say 30 days so just wanted to check).
