Interesting. Just applied successfully for a 30 days extension of my 60 days visa based on tourism in Bangkok, which was running out on December 18th. Instead of until January 17th they extended my permitt to stay untill January 30th. Must have something tondo with the visa "amnesty" untill December 31st?

I've got a 60 day tourist visa (E-visa, applied for in advance – arrived Mid-Oct) and just got it renewed with the 30 day regular extension. Original expiry date Mid Dec, but extended until Jan 31 now (due to what you write about further up). I plan to apply for the 60 day Covid Extension (my first) later on in January.

IF you come in on a tourist visa (or a 30 day visa exempt entry) you can get a 30 day extension ONCE for 1900baht at the immigration office.

The only other extension currently available is the 60 day covid extension program that runs until Jan 25th.

so then GO before your current stamp runs out or before the 25th of January and apply for the 60 day covid extension at the same office you got the 30 day extension on your tourist visa

Be aware that if a mistake is made with the date, you are the one responsible. Please check your thought about extra days with the Immigration Office.

When I came in January I was stamped in until April I thought yes bonus but then on closer inspection he had wrote in biro

and you were lucky because it IS your passport and they could have charged you if you stayed longer than you were allowed to be stamped in for. BUT glad it worked out for you,

you're 100% incorrect. IF you get stamped in wrong (either at passport control comin' in OR at the immigration office getting an extension) it is totally YOUR responsibility to get the bad stamp corrected, AND if you got a stamp that lets you stay longer than you were really allowed you will be charged for overstay if you stay
