Hi, I am on a Non-Immigrant "O" Visa (Multiple Entry-1 year) that expires 1 November. I do not see that same visa under the Thai Immigration Visa change in the last few months. Is their anyway I can extend or what are my options for a Visa like the above. Appreciate any info and Thank You in Advance.

If it is your Visa expiring in November not your current entry stamp you can border bounce again before it expires to get a new 90 day stamp then plan for your 12 month extension

Hi Tod, For someone who is going to move to Thailand based on being married to a Thai, is there a better of the two--to get a 90 day Non O visa based on marriage to a Thai in my country before going to Thailand or going to Thailand and getting stamped in for 60 days and going to immigration in my area and applying?

If you don't have a Thai bank account get your Non-O before you travel as it will make getting one much easier and you'll not have to show proof of onward travel. If you do have a Thai bank account it's up to you to do what you find most convenient.

Sorry, I should have noted this in my previous post. I have had a Thai bank account with the needed 400,000 Thai baht for many years now.

From your posting, if I get the Non O visa here in the states, I will NOT have to show proof of onward travel to airlines and customs, if they ask? Will all airlines recognize/understand this and not ask me for an onward ticket? If so, then I should get the Non O visa here in the states.

Yes, you are on a long-term Visa so if they do ask about onward travel point out your Non-O and ask to speak to the flight supervisor

These are the general requirements for a yearly extension based on marriage to a thai

They are NOT immigration office specific which is why I said go to your immigration office and get the hand out they have for marriage to a thai

If you're talking about a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa that you got from a thai consulate in your country before you came here via the eVisa online website where you bounce out and back every 90 days, you're correct. 😮 There is no longer a choice for that and you can only get a 90 day single entry Non-O visa

To extend based on marriage to a thai you show 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension.

To extend based on retirement (being over 50) you show 800K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension.

You should go to your immigration office and get the hand out listing the requirements for the yearly extension based you want to apply for

you can apply for the yearly extension on ANY of the 90 day entries when you have 30 days or less left on the stamp.

nope no insurance required for an extension if you're on an O visa where you bounce out and back every 90 days.
