We want to go to Vientiane for 60 day Thai visa. On the gov website it says 4 & 5 Dec are holidays but on the website for application appointments they show up as available for those dates. Need to book return tickets so is anyone more informed? Thanks 😊

If I was doing this, I wouldn't schedule for a date that may or may not be an embassy holiday. Why risk it?

Another tip: Arrive at the Thai embassy as early as possible (7am sounds good). The line can be very long. The line doesn't move fast. They may stop processing applications for the day at lunch time.

I wouldn't schedule on a Thai holiday if I could avoid it. If I couldn't avoid it, I'd try to call/email the embassy to confirm. It doesn't matter what anyone on Facebook says. It only matters what the Thai embassy staff say. Good luck.

As per Thai Embassy in Vientiane website, should be open, since their Calendar Updated on 2 October 2023, states that they will be closed on 8 December 2023 instead.

However, for this year's Lao National Day (2 December), the Lao government will be having a Substitution Day on Monday, 4 December 2023. As to whether Lao National Day 2023 affects the holiday closure of the Thai Embassy remains to be seen....
