Is the online 90-day check-in process in Thailand now instant?

HI. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I tried 90-day check-in online for the first time, and immediately got an e-mail saying: “We have received your information successfully” along with completed form for alien to report staying beyond 90 days. (O retirement.) So my question is: Is this process is now instant? (In the past I’ve seen people in this group saying they are waiting for approval.) Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The online 90-day check-in process for expats in Thailand now allows for immediate email confirmation upon submission, but this does not constitute approval. Users typically receive approval within a few days. Some have reported instant approvals within a day, while traditionally it took up to 4 days. It’s important to wait for the approval email, which includes a downloadable PDF to keep with your passport.

It's been almost immediately in the last year for me. Usually just 1day . In the past it has taken about 3 to 4 days.

Is the report ready to print out??

The online 90 day reporting program works like this;

The minute you submit a 90 day report online you get an email that says this

[𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗡𝗢 : *********) 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝟵𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗗

That means nothing 😮 other than you applied online to file a 90 day report

Then you wait for one of these emails

[𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗡𝗢 : *********) 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝟵𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗

This will have the PDF file in it that you print out and put in your passport telling you when your next 90 day report is due

[𝗧𝗠.𝟰𝟳] (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗡𝗢 : *********) 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝟵𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗

This means it was not approved and they'll usually have a reason in the email as to why

The "window of opportunity" to file a 90 day report online is from 2 weeks BEFORE the due date down until 1 week BEFORE the due date <- meaning you have a 1 week window online

In person the "window of opportunity" is from 2 weeks BEFORE the due date until 1 week AFTER the due date <- meaning you have a 3 week window to apply in person

Thanks everyone for clarifying! I did it early, so still time to go in person if rejected.

Confirmation only, within 3-4 days as usual you receive the document, print it and keep in your passport.

Usually get the approval after about 4 days or so

@Jakob ********
Mine is usually the same day.

@Richard ******

If I go in person (as I had to do a year ago when I got a new passport) it takes me around 15 minutes. Online it has never been more than 48 hours in the last 5 years. maybe you should move to Samut Prakan....😂
Jakob *********
@Richard ******
well, good for you

I am in no rush

No need to move
Richard *******
@Jakob ********
No need to get upset, I am just pointing out that people have different experiences with immigration, particularly in different provinces. So, your usually after 4 days comment, should have the caveat that it is only in your experience and in your immigration office.
Jakob *********
@Richard ******
I am not upset at all, I just said my experience ..
Fath ********
It's only a confirmation of receipt, it's not an approval of your 90 days.

@Fath *******
Ah, so that's not the approval, I'm still waiting for that next step?
Jakob *********
@Bennett *******
approval usually follows in about 4 days or so, with your next reporting date
Fath ********
@Bennett *******
yes, another email will follow with either rejected or approved in the subject line
Andrew ***********
@Bennett *******
yes first step is they have received your information and second step is they approve or reject it, if rejected you will have to go in person to immigration office near you. Normally they want the first time is in person, but TIT and you never know.

I've always done it in person in the past. This is my first time trying online. Thanks!

Congratulations 👏👏👏

It's a roll of the dice to get the approval on-line the first time.
