During the circumstances is it maybe possible to get a non o dependent visa without leaving thailand and do it within the kingdom ?
Right now i'm using a ED visa and is valid until the 25th of August.
Not sure if a border-run is optional or even possible at the moment to apply for a non-immigrant o and then get back into Thailand.
If somebody does know, please help or give some tips, i really appreciate it.
Thank you ππ½

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to know if they can change from an ED visa to a Non-O dependent visa while remaining in Thailand. They expressed concern about their father's health and their desire to care for him. Other community members noted that it is possible to apply for a Non-O visa without leaving Thailand, but there are limitations regarding the kind of dependent visa available for taking care of an ailing parent. It was also indicated that border runs are currently not feasible due to border closures.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.

There is no option for you to stay to take care of your ailing father no matter what visa/extension he's on here. You would have to have your own visa/extension
unfortunately borders are still closed and neighboring countries are closed as well. You need to stay on your ED visa if you can as at this time it's the only way you can continue to stay. IF you leave here you won't get back in not for a good long while
, that is for a spouse or a child up to the age of 20, It is not for an foreign adult to give care to another foreigner who is here long term. :( AND that is not an immigration site, that is a site that SELLS visa assistance..

okay, lets sort this out.
First off How about saying what reason you want to get the Non-O dependent visa?
Secondly, it sounds like you're NOT on ANY visa at all and instead are on an extension of stay based on education from the immigration office which is valid until the 25th of August.
hey tod, thanks for answering. So i'm right now on an ed visa studying Thai language in Bangkok, although my visa will be valid until the 25th of August.
I wanted to change to a dependent visa because i want to take care of my dad, he's a bit sick and not feeling al too well, so in the meantime i wanted to ask if it's possible to change my visa while being in Thailand and in order to take care of my dad. My dad's got a retirement visa by the way.
I still think you're NOT on any visa and instead are on an extension of stay. LOOK in your passport at the stamp that expires on the 25th of Aug and see if under the location of the office that put the stamp it if it says "extension of stay permitted until...." with a date

you CANNOT do it from another Non-Immigrant Type visa and they are on an ED visa
(y) correct, you can only apply for an in country Non-Immigrant type visa from a 30 day visa exempt entry, a 60 day tourist visa entry OR a 30 day extension from one of those. You can't do it from another Non-Immigrant visa type
a 6 month METV is just a tourist viisa and all a VISA does is let you ask to get in. It doesn't let you stay here.
When you get let in with that visa in your passport you get a 60 day tourist visa entry stamp :O <- that's what lets you stay IN the country and that's what you use to apply for the in country Non-O
So yes, you CAN apply for an in country Non-Imm visa off a 60 day entry stamp from a 6 month METV
