I am travelling to Asia for 6 months from December and planned on staying majority of my stay in Thailand. I was going to apply for a multiple entry Visa but got advised that because Iโll be in and out of Thailand there wasnโt much point as I am from a Visa Exempt country.
Iโm wondering does anyone know how many days you get when you first arrive and get stamped?
I had a look at my passport and previously it looked like it was over 30 days but now Iโm reading some comments and itโs now saying itโs only 30 days so a little confused lol
Thank you ๐๐พ

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a traveler from a visa exempt country, you will receive a 30-day entry stamp upon entering Thailand. You can extend your stay once for an additional 30 days by applying at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht. It is noted that while you can enter Thailand multiple times by air without a formal limit, there are restrictions on land border entries.
Yeah the 6 month multi entry visa is only necessary if you want to border bounce and just stay in Thailand. A good option would be get a single entry for 60 days. Can see alot of Thailand before you move into other countries and not have to bounce in and out all the time. Also gotta keep in mind if you run up 90 days on exempt entries, you'll almost certainly be denied trying to get back in again without a visa
yes so that's my suggestion. Get a 60 day visa before you come. Could then extend 30 days for a 90 day stay before leaving and you won't have any immigration denial issues
I planned on leaving before my 30 days was up for Cambodia for a couple of weeks and come back in again. All border bounces would be done by air which I thought was unlimited
it is unlimited but apparently and I can't back this up personally they don't like regular exempt entries. I've had them sit there and calculate my time spent in the country on exempt before being stamped in. I was told this was why. If I hadn't had a exit flight before I'd logged up 90 days I'm sure they would have denied me. It's something to be aware of despite the official rules saying you can fly in unlimited
Iโll have my exit flight to Cambodia booked and also my exit flight out of Thailand booked. You reckon that would be okay? I plan on coming back in June from January
yes if you have a exit ticket within 30 days of your entries you'll have no issues. You'll likely not be even asked if you haven't accumulated the days mentioned

Tried to apply for evisa for multiple entry but it says itโs not available for Australia
If you're from a visa exempt country, you'll receive a 30 day stamp each time you enter Thailand. You can also apply one time for a 30 day extension on each entry.
You are limited to doing this 2 times per year at a land border, but there is no written limit for entries by air.
