TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an ED visa studying Muay Thai and wishes to travel to the UK for family reasons while retaining their visa status. They have been informed by their school that they can only leave Thailand for one month. However, comments suggest that under current COVID-19 regulations, individuals on ED visas associated with private schools may not be able to return after leaving, even with a re-entry permit. Therefore, it is critical to verify the latest immigration policies before traveling.
NORMALLY (as in before this covid shit show started and the country locked down and limited the types of visa/extensions that can request entry) you could leave and as long as you returned before your extension expired you'd get stamped back in and could apply for another extension no problem.
BUT
That's not the case any more.
So whether you get a re-entry permit or not, when you leave you won't be able to request to get back in based on education (at least that's how the rules are NOW)
Unfortunately for you at this time, people studying at private schools cannot request permission to enter the country on ED visas. Only people enrolled in a real university or an international school can
