My husband and I just got our O Visa in KL. His will be for retirement and mine as the spouse. I just wanted to say how smooth and easy it was! We had everything on the checklist from their website. However, we had our medical certificates from Thailand, even though the checklist asks for medical certificate from Malaysia. And we had criminal checks from America. He quickly looked over our paperwork and we were in and out quickly both days. đ

It was for the 3 month O. Weâll come back to Thailand and change it to a retirement 1 year. Because Iâm applying for the spouse O visa, we had to leave the country for this first step. If it was just my husband applying for the retirement, he wouldnât have had to leave the country. He could have just done the whole thing in Thailand.
New Delhi Thai embassy too not user friendly. But I got smoothly.
Some time it happens.
Best of luck.

Funny thing is my friend went to Vientiane for the same visa last year and they wouldnât give it to her because she didnât have a medical certificate. But she went to KL right after and got it no problem. She liked KL so much better which is why we chose KL. It couldnât have been easier for us.

That consulate gets a bad rap as one that is not user friendly BUT if you meet the requirements on the website usually they're fine to deal with.
Glad it worked out. (y)
