I have two questions and I apologize if redundant with past questions.

#1 I just received a new passport and my 90-day reporting is due. I know I need to do that in person with a new passport and I assume I need to get the Visa stamps moved into the new passport first. Is that correct?  

#2 My annual Visa is up for renewal on December 11th. Is it possible for me to go next week to move the stamps and get the Visa for next year at the same time? That's 26 days before it expires. I know there is a limited window as to how far in advance you can renew. Please advise. Thank you!

Additionally, don’t forget the form/letter your embassy/passport office gave you when you got your new passport.

It is the document requesting immigration to transfer tour visa to your new passport.

Without this document they will NOT do the transfer of the visa.

I know this because I am sitting at Chaengwatthana right now doing a visa transfer to new UK passport.

1 Go to the immigration office that you got your extension from (and that you do your 90 day reporting at) do your 90 day report, THEN go and get the stamps moved and then apply for your yearly extension.

MOST all the offices in the country allow people to apply for a new yearly extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp (some are 45 days or less like Bangkok). You don't lose any days by going early, they add the new year extension to your current expiration date.

IF your profile is to be believed and you're in Bangkok you need to do your 90 day reporting at the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office and get the stamps moved and then get your year extension at the Chaengwattana office.

thank you, yes I have been living here for 30 years but travelled so often, I never had to do 90 day reporting until Covid hit. So this is new to me and it unfortunately happens to coincide with my getting a new passport. But you say do the 90 day reporting first? I am surprised. The new passport doesn't have my visas in it and the old passport now has holes punched in it so I assumed they would want the visas moved first before the 90 day reporting. You are sure they will accept the new passport for 90 day reporting even though visa stamps are still in the old one? And actually, does it matter? Can I do the Visa first and 90-day second?

you said your 90 day report is DUE. Some immigration offices won't let you get a new extension until you've filed a 90 day report.

BUT, yep, your reasoning makes sense..

Go to Chaengwattana and move the stamps, TRY to apply for your extension and then (if you do get it) go file your 90 day report..

AND

if you get the stamps moved but they don't let you apply for your extension at least you'll be filing a 90 day report on the new passport and then you can go back and get the extension.

Anyway you slice it, you're gonna go to BOTH C/W and MTT..

sorry yes, it's in the reporting two-week time window. so I do have a little time left. I have until the 24th to do my 90-day. I was just going to do it online but went to the website and it says, not surprisingly, that I cannot do it online if I have a new passport. And yes, I expected to go to both CW and MTT. Just hoping not to go to CW twice this month as well as MTT. Thank you so much!
