TLDR : Answer Summary
A Malaysian passport holder shares their experience of successfully obtaining a visa extension in Thailand. They entered the country on a tourist visa and applied for the extension with an embassy letter due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. The extension they received is valid until October 26, and they discussed the process, including the fee of 1,900 THB common for all extensions. Various comments from others provide insight into the experience of obtaining embassy letters, the necessary documentation, and how to navigate the immigration process.
i have no idea too. I do have my own company in Thailand and meet the requirement for hied foreigner. As i know to convert the visa must have at least 15 days of validity visa, so I need to go check again. Just try....
make a new post with the your details. Here is mine for example. You can copy paste and edit your experience, office, country or origin and visa type so we can all learn.

Any hassle with the embassy letter or was printing it out (in black&white) enough? Have heard about officers asking to see the 'original'/see the letter on your phone etc even though most embassies are issuing this online.

I just have today my stamp under consideration with the color print letter from email. Not an original. And no one question about the letter, they just check the date
yes. I got my letter within 3 hours, but i think maybe is my embassy not busy like others. I have applied 2 times for embassy letter, 1 in April 1 in July. Both also received original letter.
hi, does it mean you use the embassy letter that you requested in July? Is it still valid?

O Gorman Trevor did you get a copy of the document list required for that office? That might be worth a seperate post for others in your area

O Gorman Trevor have you recieved an extension or just the under consideration stamp?

O Gorman Trevor and some don't, so we are trying to determine if it's mandatory or not since some people may need to scramble and beg for physical copies if so

By original, do you mean you received a physical letter from your embassy?
To clarify, you went to your embassy and they handed you a physical paper letter with an original seal, not a printed copy ? You may be the first person to receive an extension, so we are trying to work out the details since most embassies will only give a email pdf which we all print. A letter with a seal would be a different process.
So for the members let's recap. You got the embassy letter from your consulate stating you are unable to travel due to covid-19, you went to the immigration office and applied for the 30 day extension on the 26th of Aug and were given an "under consideration" stamp that said you needed to return on the 9th of Sept (today), SO today you went back and were given an extension which starts the day after amnesty ends and runs until the 26 of Oct..
you just need to fill in the form with your personal details and the reason for extension. Actually the officer is quite busy, they no ask any questions.
