Anyone had any luck (post-covid) with Hanoi or HCMC Thai consulates for getting "O" visa for reason of spousal visitation? I understand that Savannakhet is functioning, and have (pre-covid) done HCMC. There are now nonstop flights from CNX to HAN and SGN. This is a lot easier to traverse than CNX-UBP and a 2 hour bus ride to Mukdahan, then 1 hour to get over the border. Cost should be the same, time taken should be much less, if HCMC or Hanoi Thai consulates are functioning.

Hanoi doesn't issue year long multi-entry Non-O visas based on marriage <- that means unless you're going to come for 90 days, then apply for the year extension inside the country with the 400K baht at the immigration office that's a bad office to choose
HCMC does issue the year-long multi-entry, for 200USD
It is a consulate that requires a mandatory appointment to get in the gate, and you either MEET the requirements on the website, or you don't get the visa.
They are also very hard on people with a passport full of covid extensions (So if that's you, I'd recommend no matter how inconvenient Savannakhet is for you, that's where you need to go)

Keep in mind they also have a clause in the requirements for Non-O visas that states;
