Hi there, I don’t quite understand how to do the house contract for DTV. How can I book accommodation for 6 months if I don't first know that my visa will be approved?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on securing a 6-month accommodation contract for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand without knowing if their visa will be approved. Comments suggest alternatives like applying for a tourist visa if DTV is denied, or booking a flexible rental that allows for cancellation. It's also noted that providing a temporary address or a hotel booking during the visa application is acceptable.

You can put the address you previsually will be staying at as it only asks for the information not documents, you can also have a hotel booking, this can then be changed once arrived at immigration home office and update the address

A 1-month hotel booking do you think can be enough? Thanks so much

can be requested for more documents regarding your accommodation since you are applying for 180 days but you do put the date you will depart Thailand which could be within 1 month, embassy will request further documents if it's insufficient and not just decline the application

Applying in Malaysia? Aren't you? So far, that I know, Malaysia is the sole country where they ask for that requirement, which if you ask me, is utterly nonsensical. Why? I'm a digital nomad, so I'm not living more than 1 maybe 2 months in the same place. I like moving and exploring new places. Said so, I wasn't asked for such a kind of lease when I applied for my DTV.

So, if you can, maybe applying at another consulate/embassy where they don't ask that could be better. Otherwise, book a fully refundable hotel stay(s) then.

If it didn’t get approved, you can still enter on Tourist Visa for 3 months, leave and come back for another 6 months.

Or book something what you can cancel for free.

i have been in Thailand for 3 months and on my second flight back I got told to get the right visa.

Things are changing or it's a risk we are taking

yes we have the Same struggle at the moment. I just mentioned it for the case that the Hotel is booked but Visa denied

Not always. There are still many people (like those from my country) who are not elegible for the 60-day visa exemption entry at all.

ah my fault, sorry!

Then I would just book something that I can cancel. Or write the owner, that it depends on your visa, mabye they help you there and let you cancel if not approved
