Good morning TVA members. I have a question/scenario that requires some expert analysis. A Norwegian friend of mine is on an extension to stay based on retirement (Koh Samui, Suratthani). She’s been on this extension for over ten years (unbroken). As I understand it the recent health insurance requirements affect those on a Non O-A visa and those who obtained their extension using a non O-A visa from their home country where proof of funds can be done using money kept in the home country. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve looked at her passport and verified the extension but the original visa is not in that passport, I suspect it was in her last one. She’s never had to prove any monthly income or deposit 800,000 in a Thai account, all verified in Norway not Thailand. Does she he have to be worried about health insurance? TIA
