Do I need to update my TM 30 when returning to Chiang Mai from Hua Hin?

It really sucks every immigration office makes up their own rules, or interprets the laws so differently. It would be so much better if the chief of the immigration division dictated to all the offices how the law should be interpreted and applied and every foreigner in the country has the same burden as every other. It should not be this game of immigration office roulette where some people get relatively lucky (such as in Bangkok) and others get screwed (such as in Samut Phrakan and Phuket).

If the answer is no, then your experience at another office is not all that relevant.

100% sure about that... Because here in Phuket we always have to report our address again if we have been to a hotel for let say only 1 night :/

Last time I went to update I asked the same question to the officer. He said "every time you stay out of CM province".
