Apologies for another posting. Armed a 60 days visa,

1. do I still need to show 10k baht and onward ticket? I know it applies to VOA but not sure it's the same as already have visa on hand

2. If I want to stay for 40days, the arrival card do I indicate 40 or lesser or doesn't matter

I encounter my partner applying for visa using an agent in China being a Chinese national and she mentioned to her that once she has the 60 days TR visa approval she does not need to show prove of funds and onward ticket. Is it true?

Stanley A report just now of someone who tried to enter on a METV and a ticket was demanded back to their home country. So it seems they can. Unlikely they will, if there is no history. But they can.

Stanley that one is more murky. Some sources (including the airline document requirements system TIMATIC) say the onward ticket requirement only applies to visa exempt entries. Other sources say you may be asked for one with a TR also.

Most of the reports of people denied, with visas, it seems to come down to the money rather than an onward ticket. For visa-exempts, though, there are definitely reports of people being asked for the ticket.

The chance of it happening either way is very very very low.

Legally you can be asked, certainly for the funds. The agent may have been saying that they were unlikely to be asked, and it is true that the vast majority of people are not asked. But a small minority of TR visa holders are asked to show cash on arrival and denied if they don't have it.

You could be asked. As we know 35 million tourist arrive in one year, we also know that the majority will not get asked. But being prepared just in case prevent problems on the airport when asked.
