Hi

Previously, I have flown into Thailand and received visa exempt stamps which I have extended with ease at IT Square Laksi. I never needed a TM6 or TM30 to do the extension of an exemption stamp.

However, my most recent entry was a land entry using a 60 day tourist visa obtained in Penang. This time I received a TM6 on entry, which I assume I'll need to take to do the 30 day extension.

Can I also confirm whether or not I'll also need the TM30 this time at the Chaengwattana immigration?

Update for those interested - wasn't asked for a TM30 or even a TM6 despite being given one when I entered Thailand.

If you have a TM6 you'll need the original and a copy for your extension.

In Bangkok it's random if they ask you for a TM30 for a tourist extension. They might ask or they might not.

They ask for the TM30 when they don't see a current one in their database when they scan your passport bar code. Lots of Airbnbs don't file them, and also when people stay with friends. If there is a current TM30 on file then they don't ask. It's not done randomly.
