Hello. When I joined at Bangkok at the beginning of January. The immigration officer made a note and said that the next time I entered the country I must have the DTV visa.

Is this real?

Can I not do a boardrunni ng to Malaysia and enter Thailand on a tourist visa?

Best regards Peter Koh Samui

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, Peter, received a note from an immigration officer upon entry into Thailand, indicating he must obtain a DTV visa for his next visit. He inquires whether he can still enter on a tourist visa by doing a border run to Malaysia. Comments suggest that he has likely been flagged for frequent border crossings and may face challenges re-entering Thailand on a tourist visa. It's recommended to get a proper visa to avoid entry denial.

I think your previous ED visa is causing you problems. Is your DTV for workation or soft power?

You've been flagged, so you better get a proper visa (doesn't necessarily need to be the DTV) or might get denied entry on the next (or not) bounce.

definitely use an agency for dubious entry history. They will make it happen

You've probably abused of the tourist exemptions these last months... How many times did you cross the border and how long have you stayed in Thailand these last months? If you saw them putting a note, it's in the system and trying another border will certainly not help.

Anonymous participant 327 trying another border generally will help. It's generally just a threat. But using an agency to facilitate border bounces will always work. As you say though, if he has too many border bounces and long history it can catch up to you especially if they believe you may be working

Right, it's a bit of a gamble.
