Hi all, has anyone in this group had a 6 month smart visa and then changed over for the 60 day covid extension when the smart visa expired without having to go back to bkk office to cancel? TIA 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about the process of transitioning from a 6-month Smart Visa to a 60-day COVID extension, specifically asking if it's possible to do so without returning to Bangkok to cancel the Smart Visa. A comment advises that any extension must be canceled before applying for a COVID extension, with the Smart Visa managed by BOI offices and the COVID extension applied through standard immigration.
You need to cancel any type of extension to apply for Covid extension. Especially Smart category, which is handled by BOI offices, and you need to apply for a covid extension at the 'standard’ immigration office.
