Question:

I’m an American and plan to retire in Thailand soon. As of now, I have a non-refundable ticket to fly to Barcelona, Spain on Sunday.  I want to stay in Spain until my visa and COE etc get approved.  But my question is -- I think I have to submit my flight information for the COE and visa -- and it won't be a direct flight from the US to Phuket -- but it will be NY to Barcelona -- then 2 or 3 weeks later -- continuing to Phuket changing planes  in Dubai or Qatar.  

- Can I do that? 

- Will they accept that my final flight will be from Barcelona to Phuket?

I think that’s right. I had to do something similar traveling Ireland Spain - Thailand.

I had to request the COE in Spain as the one from Ireland wasn’t valid.

@Puma Sullivan: If you have to spend time in Spain, fly directly to the most exciting island IBIZA from Barcelona. It’s less than 1 hour and book yourself in a small hotel in the old ancient town of Ibiza city. You will 100% enjoy your time there. Google Ibiza !
