I am down to the last few pages in my passport so need to get a new one. I'm visiting the UK next month, if I got a new passport whilst there would I be able to come back into Thailand on my current visa if I bring my new passport and old one with the visa and re-entry permit? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are renewing your passport while visiting the UK, you can still re-enter Thailand using your current visa as long as you bring both your old passport (where the visa is) and your new passport. Some users recommend visiting a local immigration office to get the extension stamp transferred. However, be mindful of the potential delays in obtaining a new passport in the UK due to backlogs and ensure you check for fast track appointment options if needed.
Apply online now and do the Premium service and you can choose which passport office you collect it from.

If you are coming to the UK ? You used to be able to go personally to the Passport office in Petty France which is in London . Please check about ; Having to book /Location . Cost . You will be aware that the Civil service have been striking recently -Which has caused backlog.

I got my passport renewal in Bangkok in January, only took 2 weeks
they'v ealready said there's a back log. And its about 20 to 25 weeks wait. You'll need to check if they'll do the fast track or same day. If you've a few pages left why renew it right now?
I currently have 4 pages left. Three of which are covered in holes from immigration stapling in the 90day slip, so not sure if that will cause me issues with their validity. I fly out end of May, re-entry will take 1 page, also visiting family in France on my trip to the UK and after brexit they also stamp entry/ exit.. Get back to Thailand end of June and then renew my extention of stay in August which will take up a page. So if fastback whilst in the UK is possible I will go for that.
you'll have to check if fast tracks available. . .

be prepared to be able to travel to one of the 7 offices that do fast track appointments. If you know when you are going back to the UK I would book on line for your appointment now. The strike finishes on the 8th May but counter appointments are still available. Go on Gov.uk to make your appointment.

My friend did this recently please be aware there is currently a 10 week wait in the UK for issuing new and replacement passports ๐
Thanks, I'm only in the UK two weeks.... I would do the week fast track. Did your friend pay for fast track? Hope that's not delayed too! I looked into getting it in Thailand and it said 10 weeks wait, which wouldn't work as when I get back I only have 5 weeks before I need to do my extention of stay.
