Hello I'm under a 1 year student visa and I'm planning to back France for 5 weeks after 6 months. It will be my first time out of Thailand in 6 months. Is anybody did it already, I'm wondering if I can have problems with my visa when coming back. I will of course do the re-entry permit.

You say you have a one year ED visa :/ That visa is ONLY available from a thai consulate in another country AND it requires you to exit the country every 90 days.

Do you instead have an extension of stay? That you got from the thai immigration office for 1900baht? If you do what is you're "permission to stay until date" on the extension? That is gonna control how long you can be out of the country.

it's a private school, I indeed get a 90 days extensions but I will be fine with the "untill date", just worry about 5 weeks maybe too long. Thanks for your answer Tod.

Yup... I was in grad school and took 8 weeks between semesters... not a problem as long as the visa is valid when you return and you have a re-entry permit.

No worries. Just ask for a re-entry visa at the airport or at laksi immigration office. Pretty standard thing.

If it during a school holiday it will be no problem, if you intend to miss 5 weeks of classed better talk with the school first.
