Hi, I'm on a non imm B visa, no work permit. It expires next month, if I cross the border, will they give me extension upon reentry? I'm also thinking of changing employer, if the new one is willing , can they give me all the required paperwork and get another visa under their company name without leaving the country? Thank you!!

do you know if the new employer is willing to file for the 1 year nonb visa, if I can do it while I'm in the country, or I'll need to do it abroad in a consulate?

there is no one year Non-B visa inside the country. AND there are no thai consulates in the area that will sell a one year multi-entry non-B to anyone who is not a director of their company and who doesn't own at least 20% of the shares.

You get a 90 day single entry non-B and then you apply for a year extension inside the country at the immigration office. Then once you get the extension you get a multi-re-entry permit.

but you CAN stay the full 90 days on that Non-B visa whether you're working or not. The entry stamp of a visa doesn't cancel because the reason you got it changed. You just can't work for someone else while you're here on it. BUT you can stay until the stamp runs out

As a general rule Non-B visas are company specific. <- meaning you can't use the VISA to get an extension from the immigration office if you switch employers.

Look on your visa and see if it has the name of the company written on it in thai. If it does, you're done, and will need a new Non-B from the new employer, if it doesn't you might <- as in maybe, be able to use it to get an extension at the immigration office from a new employer.

then you can stay the whole 90 days you got stamped in for BUT you can't get any more time off that by exiting/re-entering.
