Hi 

If myself & Mrs arrive we now get 45 day VOA , can this then be extended twice ? 

I think we can get another 30 days at immigration, but I’m unsure about extending it again. 

Basically we have flights for a duration of 90 days & I’m unsure of the best cost effective way to get our visas

Best cost effective way for a 89 day stay is get the 60 day tourist visa and extend it for 30 days. Is your stay really 90 days?

Adding on to OP's question - does one need a ticket out of Thailand before the 60 days are up to get the visa / in, or is having just the final outbound ticket (after 89 days) sufficient?

BUYING the visa at the thai consulate requires proof of onward travel (you upload it when you apply for the eVisa) BUT at passport control stamping in you won't be asked for onward travel AND if you have a valid tourist visa in your passport you shouldn't be asked by your airline for onward travel either

So sorry to ask another question, but just wanted to make sure I understand before booking and applying. When you upload the onward travel information on the evisa application, are they going to require that it shows within the 60 days or do they allow the onward travel to be within the 90 days because they understand that means you're going to seek the 30 day extension?

they will probably accept it at 90 days because they know you can get a 30 day extension.

some consulates will and some want it at 60 days, believe me they'll email you and say what's wrong with the documentation when you apply

when we apply for our 60 day visa are we ok sending in proof of our flights with then being 90days 🤔

We’re both not really computer literate that’s why I was asking for another way of doing our visas . We’ve tried uploading requested information but most of its not been accepted as it saying too big or wrong format we’re using an iPad if that’s making any difference 🤔

Also a lot of the questions really don’t seem to have any relevance.

write on a piece of paper NOT APPLICABLE take a photo of it and upload that for the questions that do not apply to you getting tourist visa AND make sure you selected the correct choice "Tourism and Lesiure Activities" and then single for number of entries.

, your other choice is to just come in visa exempt (on the free 45 day entry stamp) and realize you're going to have to go to the border, exit/re-enter thailand to get a new free 45 day stamp to stay the planned time you want

I would love to know this as well. We are about to book tickets for the 60 day TR visa + 30 day extension. Wondered if we could book the exit flight for the 90 days for the evisa application... or if it had to show exit by 60 days.

agreed (y) there's no way to get 89 days out of visa exempt entries without exiting re-entering the country which is more costly than getting a single entry tourist visa from the thai consulate in their country before they come..

You didn't get any 45 day Visa On Arrival as there is no such thing,.

You entered without having bought a visa from the thai consulate before you came here and due to your nationality you were stamped in FREE for 45 days on what's called a visa exempt entry. (just a free entry stamp, not a visa on arrival, not a visa at all)

Be that as it may you can get ONE 30 day extension on that stamp at the immigration office which serves the area where you stay for 1900baht.

Then you're done. You'd leave the country and come back on a NEW 45 day visa exempt entry.
