My application for a marriage visa got knocked back at CW because Iβm on a covid extension and had a previous Non B cancelled. They told me I had to leave the country and return to apply for the non O. I was just wondering, can I come in on a 30 day tourist visa and change it to non O, or would I have to enter the country on a Non O? Thanks to anyone who can help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about entering Thailand on a 30-day tourist visa to apply for a Non-O visa after a marriage visa application was declined. A commenter clarified that there is no traditional 30-day tourist visa, but one can enter Thailand via visa-exempt entry for 30 days. They mentioned that it is possible to apply for a 90-day Non-O visa upon entry, as long as there are at least 15 days remaining on the current stamp.

there is no 30 day tourist visa π you're talking about entering the country on a 30 day visa exempt entry <- showing up with NO visa and getting stamped in for free for 30 days.
You should have no problem coming in visa exempt and then applying for a 90 day Non-O visa.
At Chaengwattana they require a minimum of 15 days left on your current stamp to apply because of the 14 day under review period the application goes under.

Thanks for the info. I have the other requirements, so Iβll reenter on visa exempt and will then apply for non-0.
Plus the O/P already stated he was knocked back at C/W <- which leads me to believe (although I could be wrong) that he already MEETS the financial and documentation requirements. He shouldn't have too tough a time getting in, getting thru sandbox, test&go, ASQ, or what ever and then hi-tailing it to the immigration office to apply for the in country 90 day Non-O visa before he runs out of time on his stamp (and if it was close he could just get the 30 day extension and then apply)
there is no issue entering thailand on a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp as long as you meet the entry requirements AND you can extend that stamp ONCE for 30 more days at the immigration office for 1900baht
If you can't get your shit together to go to the immigration office and apply for an in country Non-O visa in that length of time I'd say something is wrong with your plan π
the issue sir, is that on your first comment you made it sound as if you could just jump in a plane to Thailand and showed up at the airport to get your 30 days tourist visa. Somehow you omitted the many steps required to even get in the plane. Thatβs all
