I was told by a language school that while you can't at the moment reenter TH on a second year Ed visa, you can possibly arrange for a second year visa by changing the visa type through immigration to a Non-O and then registering through a government approved language school. Before I go and ask immigration about it...Has anyone heard about this option?

 Not at this moment and there’s yet be an announcement about exactly when this might change. Same for retirement and elite visa holders among others. Likely not until September/October at the earliest.
