A question for future reference on a Single Entry Tourist Visa. Can a rentry permit be purchased to use again, obviously within the validity period? I was of the opinion that once used, that's it, its no longer valid. But I'm having a discussion in another group where there are saying that even a single entry tourist visa can have a re-entry permit attached to it ๐คทโโ๏ธ I think this may be useful info for all. Thanks ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether a re-entry permit can be used with a Single Entry Tourist Visa in Thailand. The consensus is that while a re-entry permit allows travelers to exit and re-enter Thailand without losing their permission to stay, it does not extend the validity of the original tourist visa. It primarily helps maintain the permission to stay date active for short trips outside Thailand, but once you leave, the tourist visa is considered used.
Reentry permit only keeps your permission to stay date active. It does not keep your visa active. That is voided once you enter Thailand within the valid time "use till".
So yes you can use a re-entry permit if you go outside Thailand for a short trip and come back before your initial permittion to stay date.
pretty much NOT all that useful because a re-entry permit doesn't ADD any time to your original stamp just lets you exit re-enter and get that same expiration date
I mean if you're only going out of thailand for a short time period during the 60 days you got stamped in for, a re-entry permit would work, but most people just max their time here out of that tourist visa entry
no you could not, you mis understand how a re-entry permit works on a single entry tourist visa ๐
here lets use DATES
you enter on Jun 1 and are stamped in to Aug 1 (let's say for easy counting)
You BUY a re-entry permit, IT will be valid until AUG 1, if you exit the country and come back you will get stamped in ONLY until Aug 1
A re-entry permit DOES NOT ADD time to your stamp or give you a new entry it just keeps the original entry stamp 'alive' so if you come back before that date you get stamped in until that date
