I was there 2 weeks ago and got that visa without a letter from my wife. BUT my wife was with me at the consulate dont know if that makes a difference. Didnt see anything about a letter in the online requirements as far as I recall. They did want a copy of thr Thai document for changing her name after we were married.
even if you have a visa your admission into Thailand is always at the discretion of the individual IO officer so they can refuse you entry (its the same in most if not all countries of the world)
Yes I did the visa last week at Savannakhet. Only thing is there is a new requirement (at leeast I didnt see it on their website) that you need to have a copy of documents shiwing yout wifes name change (assuming shr did change her namr).
Yep docs about you wifes name change are a new requirement there. I got the same visa last week and also had to show docs for my wifes change of name - my wife had seen this on some Thai websites before out trip so luckily was prepared
I just did a 1yr multi entry visa in Savannakhet last week - I had the 400knin my Thai bank account but we needed cash ASAP for a family medical emergency so I went undet for a cohple of days before I could replace it. So went to Laos and will switxh back to an in country extension later.
its been a few years for me but when I applied for a visa to get mh now wife a US Visa the fiancee visa (then get married within 3 months of arriving in the US) was much faster to get than the visa for a wife.
