Reason they cancel is no commercial flights with passengers are allowed to land and have passengers get off in Thailand currently, there is no date when this will change. Only repat flights or cargo flights where passage is aranged through the embassy can bring passengers to Thailand. The airlines just accept bookings and hope they will be able to fly because it helps their cash flow.

Or 400k in a bank account in your name only for 2 months (money can come from inside Thailand or outside).

Remembet while the comes fron a high level source it is not official until approved by the cabinet and published in the Royal Gazette. While sounds promissing it is not official and could change.

yes commercial flights have been banned and will continue to be banned for now. If you get a COE the only way to get to Thailand os through flights organized through the embassy. That is not necessarily easy (limited flights and some embassies propritize all Thais) but nothing had changed due to the event in Rayong.

I am in Thailand now. Yes this incident caused some panic (big overreaction in my mind) and the Thai news is publishing some wild stories. But if you follow the government announcememts nothing has really changed. Repat flights are arriving as normal - several reports from people arriving today. Commercial flights have been banned for a while so no change. Only change is they banned Egyptian military flights and auspended VIP flights (think private jets) until the rules are changed for those.

NOT TRUE. There are still flights arrived today and more tomorrow. They are redoing rules for VIPs entry but the normal repatriation flights are still arriving.

If you want to do a 1 year extension at the end of rhe 60 day extension make sure you have the required 400k Baht in a Thai bank account before you get the 60 day extension. Money must be in account for 2 months before you apply for the 1 year extension. Of course if the boaders are open before the 60 day extension runs out (not sure this is likely) then you can bounce and continue to use your visa. But best to be prepared

The procedure to get the KR22 generally requires:

1. Get your marriage certificate translated into Thai by a recognized translation company. They need to stamp and certify that is a correct translation.

2. Get your embassy to notarize the form as Todd described saying that the marriage certificate is real.

3. Go to the Thai MFA with all these documents and copies so they can stamp the documents as legal to use in Thailand.

4. Go to your local amphur to register the marriage and request the KR22.
