As I stated before, it’s not the Thai government stopping you from getting a bank account. Thai banks are scared and that’s why they aren’t letting foreigners open accounts.

sadly, it’s affecting non-o as well. It’s a mess right now, but the word is, it should be cleared up in a few weeks. Thai banks are worried and that’s why they aren’t allowing it. Thai government hasn’t made it illegal. It’s the Thai banks.

The US embassy will not supply you with proof of the 65k per month. I don’t understand what you are not understanding. Also, why wouldn’t you want a Thai bank account? That’s crazy talk.
