A few years back I arrived in Thailand and had the first week in Pattaya, before travelling to our home in Korat.

Went to the Immigration to register, the lady checked my passport and told me to go to the IMG police in the next block.

The talked to my partner and she ask me for 800 baht, when I was driving home I asked my partner why I paid 800 baht she said a fine.

Apparently they thought I had been in Korat since my arrival, and came to them a week late.

My partner typical Thai would not contest it, and tell them I only arrived the day before.

You have to notify within 24 hrs of arrival at your residence, I always go to Korat IMG

with my partner who takes her blue house book and I D card.

Ten to Fifteen minutes max, with new document stapled in passport.

So I could get a stamp in my passport, then stay in the airport until my return flight to Thailand.
